We acknowledge the importance of keeping everyone safe while singing. Following a protocol developed by our COVID Safety Committee, Capital Accord followed active risk reduction measures and experienced no known chorus-related COVID-19 exposures from 2020-2023. 

 

Safety measures currently in place include:

• Following expert public health guidance for choral activity, including from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Choral Directors Association.

• Requiring singers to follow CDC guidelines for isolating (Respiratory Virus Guidance) if they have, or have been exposed to, COVID-19. 

• Encouraging participants to self-test, mask and/or distance as they wish for CAC events, particularly people at higher risk or with suspected exposures.

• Readiness to adjust safety measures as guidance and conditions change, communicating with members and guests about any changes to safety plans.
