 Singers School Recordings

These recordings were made on a small digital voice recorder at Region 19 Singers School, January 11-13, 2008. They represent a sample of the activities. The purpose of these files is to give interested members a taste of what Singers School is like.

  1. Great Day by the Four Bettys, current international Queens of Harmony. Ringing chords at the end cause the recorder to shudder.

  2. Charlotte Town's Burning Down. A mid-range, non-strenuous warmup/round to get singers ready to sing.

  3. Brand New Day. The song taught by the Four Bettys during the weekend. This was used to demonstrate and practice good vocal technique. This recording emphasizes the tenor part because it happened to be in a tenor's lap at the time.

  4. Rosemary's Granddaughter by the Four Bettys. The "moment"; in this song occurs near the end when Linda, the lead, begins "I am Rosemary's granddaughter.." -- then the baritone (Heather, her daughter) joins in with "and when the day is done my mama's still my biggest fan." The ringing chords at the end make the recorder cut in/out.

    • We complimented Linda and Heather afterwards and they said it took them awhile to be able to deliver those lines without getting too emotional.
