Easy Street formed in June 2007, to sing in nearby Region 14. Due to dual membership, this quartet has the distinction of representing not four but five entities...Capital Accord Chorus, Harbor City Music Company, Potomac Harmony Chorus, and Vienna-Falls Chorus, as well as Region 14's Chapter-at-large.
Easy Street is on the road -- a lot. Tenor Cathy Rothey is a meeting planner in North Carolina, who lives in Annapolis, MD! Lead Sherry Stanton lives in Rockville, MD, works in Washington, DC, directs Capital Accord in Silver Spring, MD and sings in Harbor City Music Company in Baltimore, MD. Baritone Karole Braunstein lives and works in the Fairfax, VA area when she's not travelling for her job as a meeting planner. Bass Laura Cleverly lives and works in the Herndon, VA area, and sings in Potomac Harmony Chorus in Arlington, VA.

The
Speakeasy foursome started singing
together in
2005 by slowly initiating each new member into
an old quartet. Sandra Lee, bass, is a
veteran quartet singer who needed a tenor to sing
with her former quartet. So in came Kate Morrical.
Then Erica Nybro was recruited to sing
lead a few months later to replace a lead who
was leaving the area. Finally it came time to
find a new baritone, and Kristen Laursen
(a former lead!) stepped up to the plate. With
three new members in an old quartet,
it was time to find a new name, and Speakeasy
was born.
Sandra,
an adoring grandmother and book-lover offers her
house for rehearsals and keeps the group laughing,
while Kate, an engineer, can hear any out-of-tune
chords (and fix them!). Kristen works in environmental
policy and amazes the group with her ability to
quickly master the very challenging baritone parts.
Erica works in international health and can be
seen with headphones and sheet music in various
airports worldwide.
